A 'typical' Senior Session

Recently I had the privilidge of capturing Megan's senior portraits. She lives with her family in a historical school, which they have renevated into a home. What a unique place for a photo shoot!
I shot some in her room (those are her drapes in the background)

in the gymnasium
and in front of their family mural.

I find that photographing in a clients home is a great opportunity to capture who they really are. No fake smiles here, no ackward posing, just the senior in his/her home being who they really are. Of course variety is always a must when working with Seniors. You always want to get the classic senior shot for grandparents, the shot with the "that is so her smile" for mom and dad and of course the awesome shots that they will want to give to their friends. So, after an hour at Megan's home we traveled on 101 and captured this shot.
I found this wall one day after driving my son to school and fell in love with it! Megan had asked that I find a wooded area. She is a down to earth kinda girl and wanted to make sure I caught that on film (or disk nowadays!). I took her to one of my favorite spots for walking to the beach. Of course we caught some very clasic looks there but I specially liked this shot because it really captured Megan's personality. FUN! Bringing sparkle and color to any room!
Finally we ended our almost three hour photo shoot on the beach. We found the beach to be beautiful- but cold! Megan and her gang (mom and sis) were such troopers and braved the cold. It was a typical coastal day in Oregon- the rain came down so that was the end of that! I will end my recap of a typical Senior Session with a tribute to Megan.

Natural, Down To Earth, Authentic, Fun, Adventurous.... Beautiful! Thank you Megan for allowing me the priviledge to capture you in the hands of time.
