Stop and Smell the Flowers
I am beginning to think that Blogging is more like a diary of my daily happenings. I am always thinking "oh, I should blog about this" or "I can't wait to share that image on my blog" or better yet "I want to sit and write out how much this family meant to me"
I had such thoughts today as I left Linda and Ted's home. You see, I went to scope out their place as well as their daughters place for their grandson's engagement photos. Their soon to be daughter in law, Danielle booked her wedding to Sam a couple of weeks ago and right away knew that she wanted these memorable portraits at the family property.
She told me it was a very pretty location.... my jaw dropped when I drove up as it was B-E-U-tiful! At the properties I found gorgeous bushes, flowers, trees, a pond, pasture, an archway, cute little sitting areas around the gardens that surrounds the homes. I am so excited to work with Sam and Danielle and their families. They both come from close knit families that truly share each other's lives and loves.
Bringing me back around to Linda and Ted.
From the moment I arrived, Linda greeted me with warmth extended on to my daughter showing her and me around the garden, taking her time to give us a wonderful tour, sharing her passion.
As I drove home I realized that is what inspires. Connections with people. Real connections, those that take time. People you encounter can sometimes be so hurried (I am one of those!) and don't give of themselves. Linda inspired me to go the extra mile to connect. Really, truly, converse, share, extend of yourself.
Thank you Linda- Not just for the beautiful flowers nor the yummy cucumbers all from your own garden, but for the opportunity to stop and smell the flowers (pun intended)!
