This week I have been wearing the VBS coordinator's hat! Coordinating VBS is something I LOVE doing. From advertising to organizing, it is a joy. I am a little OCD so organization is my forte- although this week I was all over the place.
~Working on the murals for each room (Which by the way are going to be awesome! We have the Celebration square, The Galactic Zone, Storybook Kingdom, Wild West World and the Doubloon Lagoon. Last night Josh and I stayed up past midnight tracing these murals...Next step: paint them!)
~gathering up all the crafts supplies (I will be heading to Portland shortly for a doctor's appointment so this continues into my time in the city..... a good excuse to go shopping!)
~separating the groups into age groups- with fun names of course! The lucky log rides, colossal coasters, fantastic Ferris wheels, rad racers and crazy carousels
~scheduling every activity possible in! There is never such a thing as too much fun at VBS!

I know it will be well worth the effort as we see children come to learn to choose to believe, choose to act, choose forgiveness, choose to obey and choose Jesus! The kids will have a blast creating messages in a bottle, picture rocks, forgiveness first-aids, king's crowns as well as playing active games. We will also be giving the kids plenty of sugar to make it through the week with us.... in the form of snacks they create themselves that is!

The celebration will end on Sunday when we will have the closing program during worship hour. The kids will perform the songs, motions and verses they learned and we will end the day with a carnival complete with a dunk tank (no Pastor Josh will not be dunked!),Tillamook Ice-cream (Yummmm) Jump house, face painting, duck pond, and my son's favorite..... the Bungee Run.

Don't you just wish you were a kid in our community now? I know you do! =)

Apparently it's so easy even a cavemen can do it. But why can't I? I started this blog with such excitement. It thrilled me to be able to write about the happenings both with the studio and my daily busyness of being married to a pastor and all the things in between. I recently have come to find the answer-- and it was there all along.... I cannot do everything. Or is it I cannot do everything well if I am doing it all? Whatever it is, you must know three things about me. One: I'm a go getter. Two: I am a perfectionist. Three: I am passionate.

I think that those three combine are great qualities! BUT, I am learning to not always be in pursuit of all three..... at the same time at least!
Since my last post I've had birthday parties to attend, a women's tea to help organize, An AWANA party (with 100 people to feed), Musicals to attend, Dinner guests to entertain, field trips to chaperon, many trips into Portland for doctors, communion bread to bake, end of school parties to help at, kid's recitals, shopping for kid's recitals, baseball season (need I say more?!) all this on top of my regular craziness and running the studio.

I am not complaining.... I love, love, LOOOOVE my life! I wouldn't have it any other way. BUT I am learning that I may run a little late- and it's okay. I may forget to prepare dessert for guests... and it's okay to go buy one! I won't go as far as "the dishes will have to wait". That's just not me. I am and always will be a clean freak. I will do the dishes, and scrub the bathroom even if it's at 1:30 am. and that will get done. Blogging... well that hasn't been done and that too is okay.... as long as I check in every once in awhile. LOL =)
