"I will say of the Lord, he's my refuge and my fortress. MY GOD, in him I will trust." Our memory verse this week at the hospital
My daughter has been complaining of tummy aches for several weeks. Thinking it was nothing, we just treated it like an ordinary tummy ache. She then developed a fever that carried on for several days. Saturday morning things looked a little worse so I contacted the advise nurse in town (I won't name drop!) the on-call Dr. thought it was nothing major just a bug. I called our Pediatrician's office in Portland and they didn't think it was 'nothing' in fact they suggested I bring her to Doernbecker.
After blood work, xrays, an ultra-sound and a CT scan they were able to diagnose the issue. She has an infection in a urachal cyst in her abdomen. Needless to say we had no idea she had this cyst but apparently she has had it since birth. She underwent surgery Sunday Morning and is recovering now. She is being watched carefully by a wonderful crew of surgeons and is receiving excellent care-- as well as being spoiled rotten with every juice imaginable, books and animals =).
We will be here until the cyst is drained to the satisfaction of the surgeon. This could be as early as tomorrow or as late as the end of the week. She still has some time to recover from this and then come back to remove the cyst all together in a couple of months.
I thank the Lord for always paving the way for Naomi's care. His provision of comfort, peace and support through our church families, our VM family, and even through you who follow me through my business and online life =) Thank you for your continued prayers.
I wanted to take this time, also to thank you all for your calls, emails, and texts (although I do not have my phone my husband tells me it has reached it's memory limit- please know I appreciate them but I cannot get them or return to you.) For my wonderful clients whose orders are on hold and for those of you who are willing to reschedule your appointment I cannot begin to tell how great a gift you are giving us to be able to focus solely on our daughter. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

{Custom, artful portraiture} {Rockaway Photographer}
Liz heard that I did custom senior portraits so called me to schedule a session. I was surprised but excited when I heard that she wanted only one location; her High School Library. Being that she has spent much of her High School days in the library-as an assistant, with her speech and debate team and just relaxing with her favorite book, she felt this would be the one place where I could capture the real her. I loved her creativity and vision! On the day of the shoot, I found the high school staff excited as well and willing to help. I showed up early and even got to just chat with some of them. I really enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you Liz I hope you enjoy this special treat.

Tillamook Country Rodeo Queen Kaitlyn Dolan
It is my pleasure to introduce to you our own Tillamook County's Rodeo Queen Kaitlyn Dolan.

Isn't she beautiful! I can vouch that in fact she is.... inside and out as she graciously handles family, classes, church, friends and of course Facebook! And as if that were not enough she is busy pursuing a veterinary degree. She hopes to one day be a veterinarian missionary. That is what I call a true role model. I am more than pleased to have this young lady be someone my little girl looks up to! Of course that is one of Kaitlyn's main roles this year as she has the great responsibility and honor of representing our great Tillamook County throughout her yearlong reign. I know she will make us proud. Thank you Kaitlyn for the opportunity to share in your TCRA experience, it was a privilege!

Welcome Packets
New year and a new price structure means a new welcome packet. When clients call to schedule a session I started mailing a welcome packet that includes a contract, model release, as well as policies, prices and helpful tips to making their session less stressful.
I designed a separate welcome packet for each style and type of shoot so if you are a senior you would receive a packet that looks like this.....
If you are scheduling a family session your packet would look a little different and have different tips geared for groups. If you are scheduling a newborn session yours would also look different and have different content and so on with my variety of session.
I have received many kudos from clients and colleagues on this idea so I thought I'd share the idea on the blog. If you are a colleague and have questions message me! If you are wanting to schedule a spring session be sure to call me to get your packet as well as the best dates available. I only have two weekends available in February as of today and only one weekend available in March... yikes you better call today!

Helloooooo 2010!
It's here! 2010. Some of my brides have been looking forward to this year with mixed emotions. "The date is finally here. My wedding day" and of course "oh,no! Only ___ (insert number) of days to plan". For me it is a joy to be able to plan along with them one of the most important days of their lives.
Looking for new ideas. Attending some classes. All in preparation of Rocking 2010 weddings! Of course this has inspired me elsewhere as I continue to work with High School Seniors, Families and even the expectant mothers and their tiny (and sometimes not so tiny-- hm. hm. Kashan!)newborns.
This inspiration led to the new blog look. A new year. A new vision. New opportunities- stayed tuned for further news on this one! But always the same heart behind my passion. Seeing beauty in every person. Every circumstance. Every opportunity.
