On business decisions, Trick coffee dates and landing the perfect husband

He is a morning person.  I'm a night owl.
He devours books.  I graze on them leisurely.
I LOVE music.  He tells me repeatedly that he likes it... just isn't obsessed.
He loves chocolate.  I like salt.
He makes corny jokes..... and I love them but laughing I tell him he got that from his father- and then we agree on something!

We may be different but we are actually more alike than we care to admit.  We are perfectionists....our poor children!  We both are clean freaks.  We like a system for everything. We both chew chips loudly.  And we both are easily irritated when others chew loudly!  That is why we drink coffee together. No chewing is required.

What most people don't know is that Josh and I do quite a bit together.  I work alongside him at church and he works along side me with my business.  He has always been that strong level headed man.  When I've been that creative live-out-loud- let's just go for it, type of girl.  I challenge him to try new things in his field and he supports and keeps me grounded in mine.

Any business decision I make, WE make together.  I may educate him on why I need a 27" Mac but he is always in on the final decision ;) He is my quiet and not so public business partner.  With every idea, with anything that is spinning through my mind, I can always run it by him.  He is my support system.  He is the one who constantly reassures me that I am doing what it is that I've been called to do.  He is the one who cheers me on in my gifts.  And I'm so thankful for him!!! I really could not do this wonderful thing we call a job without him by my side.

I never want to take this man for granted.  I want to love him as he loves me.  Sacrificially.  Giving it my all.  And showing him daily that he is loved.  Passionately.

There have been times these last few months where I've been so crazy busy I've forgotten to run things by him and surprised him with details of our week last minute.  Yet again he amazes me with his grace towards me.  Remind me to thank his mom for instilling in him Godly virtues!!

Take for instance a few weeks ago when I asked him if he'd care to go for coffee with me.  A little coffee date.... of course he being a Starbucks addict,  agreed.  THEN I let him know "by the way, I also was hoping you would hang some canvases for me at the doctor's office."  And you know what he said to me?  "Sounds like a fun date with you!"

So, yes, friends.  I seemed to have managed to land a {nearly} perfect husband.  *raising right hand, palm forward* I solemnly swear not to take him for granted and give him at least a day's notice when he needs to join me for another project.  Solemnly y'all- 'cause I mean it!
This image?  Well, it's him measuring the distance between canvases for the third time because his picky wife wanted the canvases to be perfectly centered and aligned......
And this smile?  Yeah, that is always there!  I actually didn't even ask him to look happy.... he just was.  Is.  Always.
MUCH THANKS to Tillamook Medical Associates and specially Dr. Gerken for showcasing my art for their patients to enjoy-- talk about being blessed with a great support system!!
Feel free to stop by the office and enjoy the beautiful babies on the walls as well as the ones in the magazine I just published for clients.  It is full of yummy images, helpful tips and tricks as well as articles to help you plan the perfect newborn session.  Oh let me not forget to tell you it also has information on the new Watch Me Grow Collection {A baby year plan!!} that clients have been longing for!

  1. Somehow, I thing you are both blessed!

  2. Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is important and all.
But just imagine if you added some great images or videos to give your posts more, "pop"!
Your content is excellent but with images and video clips, this blog could definitely be
one of the most beneficial in its field. Excellent blog!
